Do you sign up for a lot of sites? Or do you want to sign up for a lot of sites, forums, etc, but can't, due to the captcha images on the page?
This has been a problem for most of us, as I'm greatly aware! You see, now a days, there are more and more opportunities to get involved in on the internet, but just as much as they can be useful, also there are more spammers! And since this has happened, more and more sites are requiring people to solve captcha, or otherwise known as those little images on the page that screen readers don't pick up! And of course, as we all know quite well, that limits us as blind people, because we are having to rely on someone else to type in the image for us, or to read it to us, when we go to sign up for things like facebook, my space, etc. So what do we do?
Well, I recently found this, and it's been quite useful to me, and I wanted to share it with you! I'm not sure if some of you may already be aware of this, but since the community is kind of just getting started, they're wanting to reach out to more and more people who may need the service.
Basically, the service is called webvisum.
www.webvisum.com
What this is, it is an add-on that works with firefox that has several features that make the web more accessible, including the ability to solve captcha.
Unfortunately, this only works with firefox. However, the latest versions of jaws seem to have a great amount of firefox support, and so more and more people are starting to use it. I personally don't use firefox all that much, but I do have it installed as it seems to come in handy.
Also they have a new invitation system, since spammers always try to find their ways, and so basically a current member has to be able to send out invitations to someone through the site. However, I just thought I'd post this here, and if anyone is interested in learning more, or if you want to sign up, go ahead and contact me on here, and I can send you an invitation code. Of course, i'll have to have your email address to do this though! Lol!
Anyway, just something I thought I'd put out there!

That sounds totally awesome! I would like to get in touch with somebody to get set up with that. Please send me a private message, so that I know how to get in touch with this webism. I'd really appreciate it.

This has already been discussed on here multiple times. Its a great program, but you will need an invitation code if you want to get in. So if you know anyone that has it, ask them to invite you, otherwise you will not be able to sign up with them.

Oh, well I did not know there was already a board about this before! But yes, as the above posters have said, you'll need an invitation! You can also contact the site, I think, which is what I did, but I'm pretty sure that since they've updated their invitation system recently, you now have to have an invitation code from someone in an email! So as I said before, anyone who is interested, you will need to contact me, or someone else on here, in order to get an invitation sent to you.
Thanks
